HELP US GROW WATTOGRAPHS: TAKE A SURVEY, WIN FREEBIES!
August 30, 2004 | Gary X

We want Wattographs to be a fantastic resource for the Star Wars autograph collector. While we get lots of communication from site visitors and address database members, we want to know more about the people who visit Wattographs.. That's why we are requesting you complete a short SURVEY, to help us better understand our visitors. As a thank you to everyone who participates, we'll randomly draw some names and GIVE AWAY several hundred dollars worth of AUTOGRAPHS and other Star Wars items.

Any information provided will be used in aggregate fashion and you will not be contacted to purchase anything. This is simply to help us learn some demographics about our site users.

Thanks in advance! Your comments and suggestions will be implemented in future Wattographs content! Take the short SURVEY.

DON'T FORGET YOUR ORDERS FOR OUR LATEST SIGNING
August 29, 2004 | Gary X

Our next signing will be conducted at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector's Expo on September 10-12. We're getting a lot of interest in this particular signing, especially with the option to send in your own items. The Star Wars guests are:

  • Boris Vallejo - Star Wars & Fantasy Artist

  • Tim Dry - J'Quille & Mon Calamari Officer (tough signature - does not sign through the mail)

  • Sean Crawford - Yakface & Mon Calamari Officer (tough signature - does not sign through the mail)

  • Gerald Home - Squidhead & Mon Calamari Officer

  • Jeremy Bulloch - Boba Fett & Lt. Shekil

  • Christine Hewett - Tonnika Sister (tough signature - does not sign through the mail)

  • Dalyn Chew - Lyn Me

  • Felix Silla - Retah the Ewok & Glider Ewok

  • Steven Spiers - Captain Tarpals

In the case of Dry, Crawford and Home, there exists the opportunity to get a triple-signed item for your collection, as all three were Mon Calamari Officers in Return of the Jedi. Check out the signing page HERE.

Orders for personally-submitted items and autographs from the event is September 7th, so don't miss out! Remember, Wattographs is the ONLY provider of Star Wars autograph signings where you can send in your own items!

LIMITED, EXTREMELY RARE SIGNATURE ADDED TO STORE+ OTHERS!
August 23, 2004 | Gary X

Wattographs was able to obtain a VERY limited amount of signatures of Paul James, who plays the Aqualish Senator Po Nudo in Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Because we were unable to handle this like a regular signing, we decided to put them in the store instead to allow for first-come, first-served. This is a rare signature for any Star Wars collection, as you won't see Paul on the convention circuit. Jump on this one today, as we don't anticipate these to last that long.

Additionally, we've added several new autographed photos from Michael Sheard (including one as Adolph Hitler from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade!), Amy Allen, Michonne Bourriague and many more! Take a look at our autograph store today.

CARRIE FISHER ADDED TO HERITAGE LINEUP
August 20, 2004 | Gary X

Carrie Fisher will join Mark Hamill and James Earl Jones as a signer in Topp's Trading Cards' upcoming Star Wars Heritage release.  Considering the rarity of Fisher's Evolution card (she only signed 100), hopefully you'll have a better chance at her card's signature this time around. Numbers of the signers haven't been released and we believe more signers will be added.

Thanks to  Skylover for sending this in.

NEW SIGNING POSTED!
August 18, 2004 | Gary X

We will be having our next signing at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collector's Expo. This lineup includes:

  • Boris Vallejo - Star Wars & Fantasy Artist

  • Tim Dry - J'Quille & Mon Calamari Officer

  • Sean Crawford - Yakface & Mon Calamari Officer

  • Gerald Home - Squidhead & Mon Calamari Officer

  • Jeremy Bulloch - Boba Fett & Lt. Shekil

  • Christine Hewett - Tonnika Sister

  • Dalyn Chew - Lyn Me

  • Felix Silla - Retah the Ewok & Glider Ewok

  • Steven Spiers - Captain Tarpals

There are a lot of signing options for you to choose from, including photos, action figures and the opportunity to send along your own item. There is also a couple of triple-signed items available which would make a great addition to any Star Wars autograph collection!

We'll also pick-up other non-Star Wars guests at this show, but you must contact us separately for that. The signing page is HERE.

KEVIN ANDERSON, REBECCA MOESTA ANDERSON SIGNING TOUR
August 18, 2004 | Gary X

Author Kevin J. Anderson, who has written a LOT of books taking place the Star Wars universe, will be doing a bookstore signing tour to support his latest book Dune: Battle of Corrin.  A true fan favorite and a great guest at any bookstore event, he'll gladly sign any book he has written, even if you've purchased the book at another time. If you haven't read anything except his Star Wars books, consider picking up some of his other works (especially his Saga of Seven Suns series -- fantastic!). As usual, his wife Rebecca Moesta Anderson will attend several signings. She has co-written several Star Wars books with Kevin and a few of her own.

All of these appearances are with Kevin's Dune co-writer Brian Herbert, son of Dune creator Frank Herbert. They are subject to change, so make sure you contact the bookstore to ensure they're still scheduled.

MARK HAMILL, JAMES EARL JONES SIGN HERITAGE CARDS
August 14, 2004 | Gary X

We're finally going to see Mark Hamill-signed autograph cards with Topps' upcoming Heritage card set. It appears the autograph cards will be designed similar to the wildly popular Evolution set's signature cards. Here's the blurb from the official site:

In addition to the roster of 25 extraordinary artists who are creating original, one-of-a-kind Artist Sketch cards for the Star Wars Heritage collector card series that are inserted randomly into hobby packs, Star Wars Original Trilogy actors James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) will be signing limited numbers of cards as well.

Star Wars Heritage represents the first time Mark Hamill has ever signed for Topps while James Earl Jones signed once before for Star Wars Evolution, a character-based series published by Topps in 2001.

A single Star Wars Heritage pack contains 5 cards plus one wrapped piece of bubble gum. The product ship date is the week of September 20, coinciding with the release of the first-ever DVD launch of the original Star Wars Original Trilogy.

For more information on the Heritage card series, visit the official Topps site here.

NEW ITEMS ADDED TO STORE
August 12, 2004 | Gary X

We've had lots of email over the past month asking when we'd put new items up in the store. There are a bunch of new items added to the store and ready for perusal. Please be advised that we're still working on pictures and descriptions of some items, but if you want more information, just use the CONTACT US link to the left.

You'll also find the autograph shop link to the left, too!

AUTOGRAPH DATABASE MILESTONE REACHED!
August 9, 2004 | Gary X

Today, we are proud to announce that we have added our 300th autograph image submission to the database. That means there's over 300 examples of authentic Star Wars autographs and results on the site! Of course, this database is NOTHING without your submissions of successes, failures, autograph scans and photos with celebrities from the Star Wars universe. Since we launched the database at the very end of April, we consider this a big success, as well as a fantastic resource for Star Wars autograph collectors.

Our Star Wars celebrity autograph database is absolutely free, but requires registration. Take a look and watch it continue to grow!

HR Nielsen

Peter Mayhew has been added to th F.A.C.T.S. convention in Belgium, October 10-11. Now the guest list includes Mayhew and Amy Allen. According to the F.A.C.T.S website, we should be seeing more guests added to the show.

ANOTHER ONE GONE IN 2004
August 4, 2004 |
HR Nielsen

Two days ago I received an email from the daughter-in-law of Carole Read, informing me that she had recently passed away very suddenly. Mrs. Read become a celebrity in Star Wars circles after playing an Ewok in Return of the Jedi.

It seems to be the year where our beloved characters are dropping like flies: first Peter Diamond, then dear old Bruce Boa and now Carole. It only makes you think about your own age and the age of the original films.

Editor's Note August 7th: Graham in the UK also let us know that Read played the Gonk droid in Jabba's palace (Thanx, Graham!).

WELCOME NEW WATTOGRAPHS STAFFER - HR NIELSEN!
August 4, 2004 |
Gary X

Wattographs is pleased to welcome Mike "HR" Nielsen to the site's staff! HR Nielsen will be doing site layout for Wattographs and the Orwell Interactive company website, as well as the Autograph Central website when it goes fully live again. He'll also be contributing to our news section with autograph and celebrity news from the Star Wars universe.

Nielsen's an avid Star Wars autograph collector, focused mainly on trading cards. His fan-made Evolution tribute signature cards have caught on with several collectors. He is a major contributor to Dave Prowse's official website and has his own Star Wars autograph collecting website that features items from his collection.

We're excited to add him to the staff and look forward to his many upcoming contributions!
