IT'S ALIVE!
MUHAHAHAHA! ADDRESS DATABASE HAS GONE LIVE
April 30, 2004 |
Gary X
After being a dream for several
years, we finally have a database in place for Wattographs'
autograph address list! I've wanted a searchable database with
places for people to add addresses, successes, failures and
remarks, as well as a place where people could upload scans of
their items or pictures of celebrities at conventions. With
the hard work of ace programmer Andrew, it's here!
We'll still be testing bugs and blasting duplicates, so expect
things to be a little rough as we finalize it all. Additionally, we haven't
added every address yet, so if you have an address for a particular Star Wars
celeb, please use the functions on that person's individual page to add
information. Be patient -- this isn't a full time job of data entry, so it will
likely take several more weeks before ALL information I have will get into the
database.
Please send us
comments and constructive criticism using the "CONTACT" link on the left! This
database will only work with your participation and suggestions!
Click on "Autograph Addresses" to the left and check it out!

HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED CLONE WARS SKETCH CARDS HITTING
THE STREET!
April 27, 2004 |
Gary X |
Topps' latest Star Wars
trading card offering comes from the Clone Wars
Cartoon Series on Cartoon Network. As we've
reported in the newsletter, they have included signed
sketch cards from a variety of Star Wars-related
artists!
Noted autograph and
card collector Keith Jakubowski has started a section
on his website which details the known variations of
the cards. Most of the artists did nine basic cards.
But, Star Wars Insider artist Joe Corroney
created a staggering 71 variations of the characters!
Here is the listing of
signers, with the number of variations and how many
cards the artist signed:
Keith is also
requesting that if you get one of these great cards,
please send him a scan of what you got, so he can show
them all to the world! Check them out at
Keith's sketch card site. |

ANOTHER ONE GONE: BRUCE BOA
April 21, 2004 |
Gary X
The Star Wars family has
lost another member from our midst. We've just received a
report that Bruce Boa has passed away last Saturday. Funeral
services are set for this Saturday, April 24.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr.
Boa at Celebration II, where we discussed some of his films,
including a favorite part of mine: Bruce played the Colonel
who questions Matthew Modine about his "peace" badge in
Full Metal Jacket. I am just tryin' to look tough in the
photo -- in reality, I was pretty happy with my conversation.
He will definitely be missed.
We're thankful that his action figure was released prior to
his passing.

WHOA! A RARE, SUPER-DUPER SIGNING!
April 18, 2004 |
Gary X
WOW!
That’s
all we can say about what we just found out we can offer
you! In his first-ever signing appearance, young Anakin
Skywalker himself – Jake Lloyd – will be signing for
Wattographs at the upcoming Collectormania convention in
England. Through a special arrangement, we are able to
bring him to you to FINALLY add to your collections!
Additionally, another difficult signer will be there: none
other than Boss Nass, Brian Blessed!
We’re
excited that we’ve been given this chance to add two very
rare signers to everyone’s Star Wars autograph
collections. But, there is a “catch,” if you will. These
signatures are being sold in British Pounds, so the
exchange rate against the American dollar is going to be
VERY expensive. We’re sorry for this, but it was either an
expensive signing, or NO signing. We’ve elected to bring
it to you anyway and let you decide!
For
complete details on the Lloyd and Blessed signings, click
HERE
And, the
fun doesn’t stop there! We’ve also managed to bring a pile
of other signers for those of you who collect more than
Star Wars. Take your pick from Lord of the Rings
(including a signer is doing a one-time-only signing),
Star Trek,
Freddy vs. Jason, Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
The Matrix and more! Check it out
HERE
Again,
due to the exchange rate, these signatures will be
expensive. No matter, we think you’ll find something to
add to your collection!
MAKE SURE YOU HURRY! THIS SIGNING WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE
END OF THE MONTH SO YOU HAVE JUST A LITTLE OVER ONE WEEK
TO ORDER! |

ADDRESS
DATABASE GOING LIVE MAY 1ST
April 13, 2004 |
Gary X
After a lot of work programming
behind the scenes (thanks, Andrew!), we're about ready to
unveil our new interactive address database. When it goes live
on May 1, you'll be able to create a free account to access
it! We're unsure if all the address information will be in
there by then, but we're working steadily to get it added.

NOTE FROM
FRAZER
DIAMOND
April 1, 2004 |
Gary X
Yesterday, we sent Frazer Diamond
a condolences note on the passing of his father, Star Wars
Stunt Maven Peter Diamond. We received a nice reply from him
today:
Many thanks for
your kind words. Lots of people have been contacting us
through the web site, and it's heartening to see how popular
our father was with 'Star Wars' fans like yourself. I will
be passing on all the messages to the rest of the family
when I see them over the weekend.
Once again,
thank you for getting in touch.
