Posted on Peter Diamond's Website:

"It is with great sadness that we have to report the recent death of our father, Peter Diamond. He passed away at 4.00am on Saturday 27th March 2004, at Pindefields Hospital in Wakefield, South Yorkshire. Peter had experienced a severe stroke six days earlier, whilst driving home from the set of 'Heartbeat'." - Frazer Diamond

Peter's most noted Star Wars role was as the Tusken Raider who attacked Luke in A New Hope. He was a great convention guest and such a pivotal player in the original trilogy -- albeit in often anonymous roles. We wish the best for Peter's family in their time of grief and the staff of Wattographs sends our deepest condolences.

Been on the Star Tours ride at the Disney parks around the planet? Maybe you've wondered who played "Red Leader" and spoke that pivotal line:

"Star Tours?!? What are you doing here?"

Why, it's none other than Steve Gawley, ILM model supervisor, who also worked on the Disney attraction!
